The NRA confirmed Tuesday that President Trump will not only attend this weekend’s Dallas convention but will speak during the NRA Leadership Forum as well.

NRA-ILA executive director Chris Cox tweeted:

Trump spoke at the 2015 NRA convention in Nashville before he was the official candidate. Breitbart News got an exclusive interview with him after he spoke and he told us that America must maintain the Second Amendment “in its strongest form.”

He spoke as a candidate at the May 20, 2016, Leadership Forum in Louisville, Kentucky. Breitbart News was there and reported that the NRA endorsed Trump during the event.

Trump spoke again the 2017 Leadership Forum in Atlanta, Georgia, where he told thousands of NRA members, “You came through for me, I am going to come through for you.”

This year his speech comes amid a gun control push that has featured celebrities, student gun control activists, and establishment media personalities relentlessly pushing more restrictions on the Second Amendment.
