Freedom Caucus member Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) announced Wednesday that he and Rep. Mark Meadows (R-SC) will introduce a resolution ordering the Justice Department to hand over documents requested by Congress within seven days.

Rep. Jordan said the forthcoming resolution is a response to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s conduct towards House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence members and staffers, which allegedly includes threats to subpoena their phone and email records.

“Rod Rosenstein threatened congressional staff. When the bully picks on your little brother, you have to respond,” a defiant Jordan said Wednesday. “It’s time for House Leadership to stand up.”

The two Congressmen appeared on Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle Tuesday evening and blasted the Justice Department for failing to hand over outstanding documents concerning the FBI’s investigation into Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

“I was flabbergasted,” Rep. Jordan said in response to a report on Rosenstein’s threats.

“Rod Rosenstein hasn’t complied with Devin Nunes subpoena, hasn’t complied with Chairman Goodlatte’s subpoena. We caught them hiding information in the Strzok-Page text messages, redacting the fact that Peter Strzok was friends with Judge Contreas, one of the FISA Court judges,” he added.

“They tried to hide that from us. And today we learned from Catherine’s report that the head, in essence, the head of the Justice Department Rod Rosenstein was threatening members of the House Intelligence Committee for doing their job, trying to get answers for the American people, and the attorney general says, ‘That’s OK. We’re doing just fine.’”
