NCAA Getting Out of Player Jersey Sales

As the Johnny Manziel autograph controversy swirls, the NCAA announced it will not sell player jerseys on its website, as the NCAA had been doing–and profiting from–on ShopNCAASports.com.

After ESPN college basketball analyst tweeted information about player jerseys–like Manziel’s–the site was selling to point out the NCAA’s hypocrisy, the NCAA came under fire for “for selling … 1) jerseys identified by individual players, 2) the autograph of a player who was a central figure in NCAA case (Reggie Bush) and 3) Penn State videos of a game that had been vacated by the association in the Sandusky scandal.”
