Alabama defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, one of the best free safeties in the nation who is regarded as a top NFL prospect, was suspended indefinitely on Wednesday for violating unspecified team rules.
“I’m going to be consistent,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said, without giving any details. “When guys get suspended, I never ever say what it’s for. All right? So, I’m not going there so don’t ask me. All right? It’s the way it always happens. Every guy.
“If they do right, they wouldn’t be getting suspended. I don’t know how long this will be, so don’t ask me that either.”
Clinton-Dix, a junior, would not have been needed this weekend as Alabama plays Georgia State at home and Landon Collins will get plenty of playing time during his absence.
Saban did not give any details on when Clinton-Dix would return.
