Rock Island Armory Ultra FS 10mm First Impressions: Balanced and Deadly Accurate

Our first take on the Rock Island Armory Ultra FS 10mm is that it is perfectly balanced and deadly accurate.

The pistol, a 10mm on a full-sized 1911 frame, begs to be shot at distances from which other pistols might shy away. It is that accurate.

The Ultra FS ships with two eight-round magazines, a fiber optic front sight, G10 tactical grips, and the trigger is exceptional.

Out of the box accuracy is no problem with Ultra FS, as every aspect of the pistol compliments another. We put 250 rounds through our Ultra FS over the course of two days and the steel rang again and again.

Our first impression: The Ultra FS is incredible, period. But thus far, we have only shot one type of ammunition through it, so time will tell if it performs as flawlessly while being fed a variety of brands and bullet types. However, there is nothing about his pistol that makes one think a problem will arise.

The gun performs on a level far above its suggested retail price of $745.
