Cleveland Buys RNC Riot Insurance

The city of Cleveland, Ohio has bought insurance in anticipation of large scale rioting at this summer’s Republican National Convention, Shane Ferro reports at the Huffington Post. He also begins to lay out a media narrative that Republicans may to blame for some potential violence.

Jim Gilmore Absent From At Least 14 GOP State Primary Ballots

GOP presidential candidate former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore is still in the race for the Republican nomination – despite his zero percent support in the polls – but he has missed at least 14 state filing deadlines, which means his name won’t be on the ballot in those states when people go to vote.

A WBUR poll in New Hampshire taken in the midst of Donald Trump’s comments about banning Muslims from entering the United States due to the risk of terrorism shows Trump’s proposal hasn’t damaged the GOP frontrunner. In fact, it may have helped increase his numbers.
