Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol agents arrested 110 migrants in less than two days. The apprehensions occurred along the border and in stash houses. The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector continues to lead the nation with nearly half of all arrests of illegal immigrants alone.

New Relief Effort Records First Saved Migrant Lives in South Texas

A new program aimed at saving the lives of lost migrants recorded its first saves this week. The program places unique signs at key locations instructing lost migrants to call 911 for assistance. The calls help Border Patrol agents save time in the rescue and apprehension of those lost.

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector identified an unaccompanied minor who was apparently abandoned by family or human smugglers near the border. Officials were initially unable to identify the young boy who is unable to communicate because he only speaks a dialect they were unable to translate.

Convicted Sex Offenders Caught After Sneaking Across Border into U.S.

Border Patrol agents from Texas to Arizona stopped numerous criminal aliens from re-entering the U.S. illegally after they were deported for sex offenses and other crimes. The agents prevented these illegal aliens, some with sex offenses against children from making their way successfully back into the U.S.

Border Patrol Agents teamed up with local, state, and other federal law enforcement partners to shut down four human smuggling stash houses in South Texas. The raids over a two-day period resulted in the apprehension of 159 illegal immigrants.

May Arrests of Illegal Border Crossers Up 160 Percent

The apprehension of illegal immigrants along the southwest border with Mexico jumped 160 percent in May 2018 compared to the previous year. May apprehensions also increased by 1.9 percent over April 2018. The numbers increased each month this calendar year.

Border Patrol Agents Arrest Sex Offenders, Gang Members in South Texas

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Sector stopped sex offenders and gang members from making their way to their U.S. destinations over the weekend. During a four-day period, agents arrested four child molesters and three gang members after they illegally crossed the border. The arrests include fugitives who fled the country to avoid prosecution and previously deported criminal aliens.

Border Patrol Agents Disrupt Human Smuggling Stash Houses in Texas

Border Patrol agents along the Rio Grande River border with Mexico continue to disrupt human smuggling operations by shutting down stash houses. The smugglers frequently pack migrants into the houses with inadequate plumbing and kitchen facilities. Border Patrol officials previously called these “deplorable” conditions.

More Migrant Remains Discovered in Texas 80 Miles from Mexican Border

The death toll of illegal immigrants abandoned by human smugglers in South Texas continues to rise with the this week’s discovery of two sets of human remains. Border Patrol agents and sheriff’s deputies recovered the remains of the deceased migrants in two counties approximately 80 miles from the Texas border with Mexico.
