It says that, because the school is publicly funded, it is obligated under the First Amendment to protect the free speech of its employee Jamie Newman, who allegedly threatened to rape pro-life students on campus.

Purdue University says it “did not find sufficient evidence” to take any personnel action against Jamie Newman, a visual-arts department accompanist and composer who was investigated by the school for allegations of threats of rape against pro-life students and their family members.

Only one national pro-life leader is publicly taking the position that a bill to defund Planned Parenthood attached to must-pass legislation would be harmful to the pro-life cause. “[I] think Planned Parenthood is a vile organization, and I resent the fact that they get any tax money,” Tobias said. “But realistically, with President Obama in the White House holding that veto pen, I don’t know that any government shutdown could accomplish what we want. A national day of protest against Planned Parenthood will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Planned Parenthood facilities in over 320 cities across the nation as well as in five other countries.

“Today we learned of another life cut short by Planned Parenthood, a fully formed baby still intact with a heart still beating as technicians carve his little face in order to harvest a brain,” said Live Action president Lila Rose in a statement sent to Breitbart News. “It is difficult to even speak of such horror, and yet our nation allows and even funds these atrocities against our weakest children.”

Despite the Obama administration’s threat against terminating federal funding of Planned Parenthood, more states are cutting Medicaid funds to the nation’s largest abortion provider following videos that have exposed top medical directors of the organization engaged in the harvesting of body parts of aborted babies for potential sale to biomedical companies.

“The new Center for Medical Progress video shows that Planned Parenthood is literally preying on women and stealing their blood and remains of their babies,” Kristan Hawkins tells Breitbart News. “The video featuring Holly O’Donnell from StemExpress reveals horrifying details of how her former company, in conjunction with Planned Parenthood, does not get consent from women to take their babies after abortion.”

Following the Senate’s failure to advance legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, largely along party lines, 53-46, the pro-life community reacted by vowing to press on with legislation that would defund the nation’s largest abortion provider.
