Trump Singles, a dating site exclusively for fans of President Donald Trump, wants to make it easier for supporters to find their other half online.
“After seeing the divide in the country, hearing stories from friends about dates going sour when politics were brought up, and hearing of other political dating sites, I looked around to see if there was a dating site for the unfairly-judged Trump supporters,” explained David Goss, the creator of TrumpSingles.com, in an email to Breitbart Tech. “There was nothing, so I decided to grab the domain and make a place where like-minded people who share the same values could meet up and find a meaningful relationship without having to waste their time and money on dates with people who were intolerant of free thinking.”
Upon being asked whether he thought the social divide that took place both during and following the 2016 presidential election would make people more likely to search for a partner with the same political beliefs, Goss replied, “Yes I do, 100%.”
“Religion was the #1, by far, factor in relationships not working out and politics was much lower. As we progressed through this past election, politics became a major factor and was just below religion,” Goss claimed. “A study by VitalSmarts showed that 1 in 4 relationships were being destroyed by politics. Also, surveys done on non-political dating sites showed that 49%-56% of users would not date someone outside of their political affiliation.”
“We saw a big spike after the election and an even bigger spike the week leading up to and the week after the inauguration,” he proclaimed.
The site currently has over 37,000 users, according to Goss, however, there have not been any engagements or marriages as a result since the service began in May 2016.
“People have been very appreciative of our service. We have had emails thanking us for having our site up and available for them to find someone that they are compatible with on a political level,” concluded Goss. “We are only about 8 months old, so we haven’t had any engagements yet, but as soon as we hear about our first one we would like to help with the wedding.”
