Shaq on Kaepernick National Anthem Protest: ‘I Would Never Do That’

During Thursday’s “Fox & Friends,” NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal weighed in on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision to protest oppression towards African-Americans by kneeling during the national anthem.

Shaq questioned why Kaepernick is just now feeling this way, and added that there are other ways the backup quarterback could get his point across.

“I don’t know Colin, but again, to each his own,” he said. “I don’t really have a say on it, but I would never do that. My father was a military man, and you know, he protected this country. Uncles are in law enforcement, you know, they go out and work hard every day. Just, (there are) other ways to get your point across.”
