White House: Obama Taking 'Whole of Government Approach' to Fighting Ebola

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that President Obama is still not considering a flight ban on trips from Africa as a result of Ebloa.

Earnest also noted that Obama had also deployed military forces to bring relief to Ebola victims in Africa.

Obama will discuss “ongoing efforts” in the fight to contain Ebola later this afternoon with top administration officials, Earnest said, and revealed that he will speak briefly to reporters after the meeting.

He explained that the federal government was still confident that airport screening procedures would be effective in helping stop Ebola infected travelers from entering the United States.

Earnest repeated that CDC director Tom Friedman continued to call an Ebola outbreak “exceedingly low” and that the Department of Homeland Security was “assessing and reassessing” the screening procedures.
