Cleric: Woolwich Attacker a 'Nice Man', Victim Will 'Burn in Hellfire'

Cleric Anjem Choudary claims accused Woolwich attacker Michael Adebolajo was “a very nice man” and the vicitm–British soldier Lee Rigby–will “burn in hellfire.”

The New York Daily News reports Choudary said Rigby will face hellfire not because he was part of the British Army but because he was “an adult non-Muslim.” He added: “We invite them to embrace the message of Islam. If they don’t, then obviously if they die like that they’re going to the hellfires.”

Nevertheless, he warned that there will be “harsh repercussions” if British soldiers continue to kill Muslims in Afghanistan and other places in the Middle East.

Regarding Adebolajo, Choudary refers to him by his Muslim name Mujahid, saying: “I knew him for a number of years. Mujahid was a very nice man in fact.”

“He attended lectures, went to demonstrations,” he added. “There is no difference between him and many others who attended our activities.”

Choudary “receives $38,000 a year from the British government in state benefits.”
