Report: Hernandez Possible Suspect in 2012 Double Murder

Former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is reportedly a possible suspect in a 2012 double murder in Boston.

Hernandez, who was released by the Patriots on Wednesday before being charged with the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd, may have been involved in the murders of two Bostonians on July 16, 2012.

According to FOX 25 in Boston, investigators are looking into Hernandez as a possible suspect.

According to police reports, three people were shot on July 16, 2012 at “the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street just after 2 a.m.”

The three men, two of whom were killed, were reportedly shot “as they sat in a car at a traffic light.”

The victims, Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu, worked for a cleaning company in Dorchester and had just left a bar that night. They “were sitting in the front seat of the vehicle when witnesses said the occupants of a gray or silver SUV with Rhode Island plates opened fire on it. The surviving victim was in the back seat. Investigators believed two others in the car fled the scene.”

While Hernandez was in college, he was questioned in a shooting in which two men said they were driving around in their car when someone just opened fire. One victim was wounded in the head and the other in the arm.
