NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams may have been suspended without pay for six months for stretching the truth, but at least he’s found a new ally in actor Charlie Sheen.
Sheen, who knows a thing or two about being kicked off of network television, penned an impassioned letter on Wednesday in defense of Williams, who has been suspended for lying about his coverage of the Iraq War
Sheen’s letter, which was posted to Twitlonger, hails Williams as a “hero,” while describing NBC executives as “cowards.” The letter reads:
Dear Mr. Williams,
Sorry to bother you during this most surreal, unjust and mercurial moment in your awesome life.
First off, THANK YOU, for 24 years of inimitable professionalism and top shelf brilliance, as a stone cold passion driven and (PERFECTLY) fact based journalist. Secondly, Thank you “squared” for delivering not only the news on a nightly basis, (PERFECTLY) to myself and my family. But for every other person alive, (with a TV) who relied and still do, on your poetic, insightful and NOBLE sacrifices, that made our longest nights shorter, and our shortest nights safer. You good sir, are a hero in my “Entire Library”
Lastly; you are clearly the victim of a transparent and vile witch hunt! Erroneously “staged” by hooligans, non coms, cowards and oligarchs, who’s only desperate and hideous goal is to discredit the genius that they relied on for almost 3 decades!
Now and forever you are a true Patriot and a Hero of mine until the day i leave this star crossed imperfect Rock we call Earth…

NBC News President Deborah Turness announced Tuesday that Williams was being suspended for six months without pay, after he claimed he was on board a helicopter that was hit by RPG fire in Iraq.
Those claims were later debunked, and Williams was forced to apologize.
According to sources close to Williams, the now-disgraced anchor is “devastated” by the situation.
Although it is unclear if Sheen’s gesture will lead to a budding friendship between the two, Williams should definitely avoid the standard Charlie Sheen method for coping with network separation.
“I am on a drug, it’s called Charlie Sheen. It’s not available because if you try it you will die. Your face will melt off and your children will weep over your exploded body,” Charlie said in 2011, shortly after being fired by CBS.
