The open Republican-leaning congressional seat in the Tampa Bay area of Florida will be one of the hardest defended seats in recent history. There are group of Republicans thinking about running for the seat, this as former Florida CFO, Democrat Alex Sink, has said she will run for Young’s old seat.
E.J. Otero, the “Hispanic Allen West,” ran for congress in 2012 against liberal Democratic Congresswoman Kathy Castor, and lost. Otero, who was able to garner significant national and local support, said prior to death of Congressman Bill Young, that he was considering running for the retiring congressman’s seat.
Could an outsider like retired Air Force Colonel Evelio “E.J.” Otero, with the possible help from fellow retired Colonel Allen West and his Guardian Fund, step into the race and ice the military vote?
