Border Patrol agents from the Tucson Sector arrested a Mexican national wanted in Washington State for child molestation after he illegally crossed the border. The following day, Tucson Sector agents discovered four illegal aliens from Mexico who were allegedly smuggling more than 300 pounds of marijuana on their backs.

Agents assigned to the Ajo Station arrested 44-year-old Rey Guzman-Vidals Monday night after he illegally entered the U.S. from Mexico. Agents conducted a biometric background check and learned that the Mexican national has an arrest warrant from King County, Washington, for alleged child molestation, according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

Guzman is the second fugitive child molester arrested in the Tucson Sector this week, officials stated.

After processing Guzman for immigration violations, Border Patrol agents arranged for his extradition to Washington.

The following evening, Agents assigned to the Tucson Sector Mobile Response Team tracked down a group of illegal aliens who crossed the border carrying large quantities of marijuana in makeshift backpacks.

After tracking the smugglers’ footprints, agents came upon three men attempting to hide in the brush, CBP officials stated. The agents called Casa Grande Station and a CBP Air and Marine Operations helicopter to assist in the search of the area. The agents, assisted by the helicopter aircrew and a K-9 agent, discovered and arrested the fourth person who attempted to flee the scene.

The search of the area yielded nine bundles of marijuana weighing 321 pounds and is estimated to be worth more than $160,000.

The agents arrested the four illegal aliens. The Mexican nationals can expect immigration and drug smuggling charges.
