3.9 Earthquake Jolts Los Angeles

An earthquake struck the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles just after 4 am Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles registering 3.9 on the Richter scale.

The shallow trembler’s epicenter was approximately one mile from View Park-Windsor Hills and about two miles from Inglewood and Culver City. This is the second earthquake in the last ten days with a magnitude of 3.0 or greater in the region, reported the Los Angeles Times.

A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck the Baldwin Hills area on April 12, hours after a 2.5-magnitude temblor jolted the area, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
