Cruz: Obama's 'Lawless Amnesty' Is a 'Violation His Constitutional Obligation'

Monday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) laid the blame for the “humanitarian crisis” of unaccompanied minors surging across the U.S.-Mexico border squarely on President Obama’s “lawlessness”  at a press conference with Attorney General Greg Abbott (R-TX) and Congressman Michael Burgess (R-TX) after touring Lackland Air Force Base’s temporary youth immigration facility to help handle the flood of unaccompanied children now in U.S. custody.

In reference the presidents refusal to enforce border laws Cruz said, “The U.S. Constitution gives the president the United States a constitutional obligation to quote ‘take care that the laws be faithfully executed’ when the president instructed federal employees ‘do not enforce the law’ President Obama’s violating his constitutional obligation to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”
