WATCH: Wind Blows Sports Bar Worker onto Roof

Two people suffered minor injuries while trying to secure a tent at a sports bar during a rainstorm in Clemson, South Carolina, on Monday night.

Esso Club managers said they set up a white tent for a Clemson University event earlier that day. But a wind and rain storm that afternoon blew the plastic tables, chairs, and tent all over the parking lot, WYFF reported.

Esso Club employees attempted to secure the tent during the storm, but a strong wind gust pulled two employees and the tent into the air, according to a video of the incident.

The tent eventually struck the Esso Club’s roof, KHQ reported.

Employee Samuel Foster said he was lifted in the air and landed on the roof’s gutter on his way down.

“It took a second to register, but then I’m, like, 20 feet in the air. And all I could think about was, ‘I’ve got to land on this roof,’” Foster said.

Foster told the station he had to receive a few stitches above his eye and the other employee he worked with suffered minor injuries, but nothing else was damaged.

The sports bar was able to reopen on Tuesday, with management confirming that the building did not suffer any damage.
