David Letterman took a break from the “complacency” of his retirement on Friday for one more Top 10 list — aimed at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

The former Late Show host was brought out as a surprise guest during Steve Martin and Martin Short’s A Very Stupid Conversation tour in San Antonio. Letterman said he was happy in retirement, but he may have picked the worst possible time to stop working.

“I had no regrets, I was happy,” Letterman told the crowd. “I was complacent, I was satisfied, I was content. and then a couple of days ago, Donald Trump said he was running for president. I have made the biggest mistake of my life, ladies and gentlemen.”

Letterman reached into his pocket and pulled out a sheet of paper. “Every suit I own comes with a Top 10 list,” he quipped.

Then it was all snark as he sounded off the Top 10 “interesting facts about Donald Trump.”

“Number ten, that thing on his head was the gopher from Caddyshack,” Letterman joked.

The comedian also knocked Trump for his position on illegal immigration, his weight, and his sex life. Check out the video of the performance above.
