WATCH: Trailer for Woody Allen Cannes Opener ‘Café Society’

Woody Allen is in Cannes this week with his latest film, Café Society, which will open the Cannes Film Festival on May 11.

Café Society stars Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network, Batman vs. Superman) as New Yorker Bobby Dorfman, who packs up and moves to Hollywood in the 1930s with the hopes of breaking into the burgeoning film industry.

Café Society marks Allen’s third film to open the prestigious international film festival, after Hollywood Ending in 2002 and Midnight in Paris in 2011.

The film reunites Eisenberg with Kristen Stewart, who previously starred together in last year’s American Ultra and in 2009’s Adventureland.

The film’s star-studded cast includes Steve Carrell, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Anna Camp, Judy Davis, Tony Sirico, and Kelly Rohrbach.

As with all of his movies, Allen penned the screenplay himself.

Amazon reportedly snapped up the rights to the film ahead of its festival premiere for an eye-opening $20 million.

Café Society opens in theaters July 29. Watch the official trailer above.
