The Israel Defense Forces on Wednesday posted footage of Israeli children running for shelter, some of them screaming, as a terror rocket from the Gaza Strip exploded nearby.

Black plumes of smoke can be spotted rising in the background as the horror scene unfolded in the Israeli town of Sderot, located just over half a mile from the Gaza border.

Two Israelis were reportedly lightly to moderately injured from rockets landing in Sderot, and others were treated for shock, including two pregnant women.

According to the IDF, a total of eight projectiles were fired from Gaza aimed at Israeli communities. Two of the rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, the IDF said.

The Times of Israel reported on the rocket attacks:

A 34-year-old man was lightly-to-moderately wounded by shards of broken glass while inside an apartment building in the town, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service. Another man in his 20s was also lightly wounded by glass shrapnel in a different area of Sderot. They were both taken to Ashkelon’s Barzilai Medical Center for treatment.

In addition, eight people were treated on the scene after they suffered panic attacks, including two pregnant women, MDA said.

Videos and photographs from Sderot showed heavy damage to several cars and shrapnel riddling an apartment building.

The rocketing comes amid talks of a long-term ceasefire being indirectly negotiated between Israel and Hamas. Despite the truce talks, gunmen in Gaza on Wednesday opened fire at Israeli civilian construction vehicles working near the Gaza border. In response, the IDF shelled a Hamas terror observation post in the northern Gaza Strip.  The IDF shelling was followed by the rocket attacks from Gaza.
