Al-Qaradawi Leads Friday Prayers in Cairo, Prays for the Conquest of Jerusalem

The spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, made a triumphant return to Egypt Friday (18 Feb) to deliver the Friday sermon in Tahrir Square in Cairo before an enormous crowd of Egyptian Muslims, after more than 30 years of being banned from doing so. During his speech, he prayed for the conquest of the al-Aqsa Mosque, which by extension means the conquest of Jerusalem. A translation of the relevant portion of his remarks follows, with the full transcript to come out at a later date (I’m still working on it) (see the video in Arabic here):

[…] A message to our brothers in Palestine: I have hope that Almighty Allah, as I have been pleased with the victory in Egypt, that He will also please me with the conquest of the al-Aqsa Mosque, to prepare the way for me to preach in the al-Aqsa Mosque. May Allah prepare the way for us to (preach) in the al-Aqsa Mosque in safety–not in fear, not in haste. May Allah achieve this clear conquest for us. O sons of Palestine, I am confident that you will be victorious. […]
