Protests are spreading in Syria, where today 15 people have been killed so far as security forces fire live bullets and tear gas at tens of thousands of protesters. Among the dead is an 11 year old child.. Syria, in addition to being hostile to Israel and the United States, is Iran’s closest ally in the Middle East. One can only wonder: where is the Obama Administration in all of this? Unlike Libya, where the conflict appears to be tribal and the rebels are populated by Islamists, the protest movement in Syria appears to be a genuine uprising by an oppressed people.
