LOS ANGELES — Politicon, a bipartisan gathering of political celebrities, activists and entertainers, has announced that it will feature a “special live video feed interview with NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden” on Saturday at 11 a.m. PDT.

The “special” interview will be presented by FLOOD Magazine and conducted by the Yes Men, Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, two self-described political comedians who “use humor, truth and lunacy to bring media attention to the crimes of their unwilling employers,” according to the Politicon press release. The duo reportedly are known for their outrageous satirical interviews in which they “impersonate big-time corporate criminals to drawn attention to their crimes against humanity and the environment.”

Snowden was granted asylum in Moscow in 2013. It is largely believed that both Russia and China were able to crack classified documents Snowden had stolen, containing details that would allow British and American spies to be identified, placing their lives at risk.

A report by Reuters notes that a British intelligence source said Snowden had done “incalculable damage.” And a Home Office source reportedly quipped that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not grant Snowden asylum for nothing.
