Exclusive: Sarah Palin Remembers a Time When Democrats Embraced Faith

Nearly a week before the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin said Kennedy and his America embraced the exceptionalism and the traditions she discusses in her blockbuster new book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, much more than today’s liberals.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News Executive Chairman and Breitbart News Sunday host Stephen K. Bannon, Palin commented that John F. Kennedy “trusted the people to make good decisions for themselves, more so than you will see in the leadership of the Democratic Party today.” Palin said Kennedy “used to speak to that next generation,” reminding “them what it takes to keep America exceptional.”

“Remember, he was bold enough to cite scripture. He was bold enough to talk about the Judeo-Christian faith that is America’s foundation,” Palin said. “He wasn’t politically correct in that arena. And maybe, back then–in the early ’60s–maybe that was more accepted than it is today.”

Palin uses politically-correct scenes in her book in which there are natural birth Nativity scenes and the crucifixion of Santa along with the angry atheists and scrooges that are waging a war on America’s traditions to show how far America has gone–in the wrong direction–on cultural issues since Kennedy’s era.

Palin spoke to Breitbart News about her book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas, and more of her interview–and the rest of her thoughts on John F. Kennedy and what today’s Democrats can learn from him–can be exclusively heard on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 this Sunday from 7 PM to 10 PM EST.
