The American Family Association (AFA) has published and distributed a hate-map of organizations that demonstrate animus toward Christianity.

Unsurprisingly, the list includes the Southern Poverty Law Center, a leftist group that produces a hate map of Christian groups, and the LGBT Human Rights Campaign, which also targets conservative Christian groups for opposing same-sex marriage.

AFA has identified “200 groups and organizations that openly display bigotry toward the Christian faith and is educating Americans about these group through an online map.” AFA accuses the groups “whose actions area deeply intolerant of the Christian religion. Their actions, for example, have endorsed efforts to silence Christians and to remove all public displays of Christian heritage and faith in America.”

AFA President Tim Wildmon said, “A common practice of these groups is threatening our nation’s schools, cities, and states. By threat of lawsuit, they demand that prayer be removed from schools and city council meetings, that Ten Commandments monuments be stricken from courthouses, and that memorial crosses be purged form cemeteries and parks.”

Wildmon charges that private businesses have been sued and forced to close their businesses. Some of the groups on the AFA list “have committed violent crimes against Christians and faith-based groups. Physical and profane verbal assaults against Christians are also methods frequently exercised as angry methods of intimidation.”

Broadly speaking AFA’s list includes groups advancing what it calls the “homosexual agenda,” along with “anti-Christian” groups, atheists, and humanist organizations.

AFA charges the Southern Poverty Law Center with labeling “Christian organizations who support the Biblical definition of marriage as ‘hate’ groups and falsely disseminates this information to liberal news media, and military and law enforcement training sessions.” The SPLC’s listing inspired a would-be mass shooter to storm the pro-family group’s office in 2013.

AFA says the LGBT Human Rights Campaign’s “driving agenda is legalizing homosexual marriage by judicial activism, bullying American corporations to embrace sexual perversion and encouraging lawsuits against Christian-owned businesses and states.”
