In a 30 second YouTube video, Sen. Ted Cruz says he’s running for president in 2016, and his campaign also released a Spanish ad.
The spot features Cruz’s family’s immigrant ties to Cuba and his work for the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist, as well as footage of Cruz and his own wife and daughters.
Cruz’s father Rafael Cruz is Cuban, so if Cruz is elected president, he would be the first Latino president of the United States.
The ad also promotes Cruz’s campaign message of faith, liberty, and opportunity:
