White House Senior advisor Valerie Jarrett is praising the man once known as Bruce Jenner for announcing via Vanity Fair that would now like to be known as Caitlyn Jenner.
“Nice to meet you, @Caitlyn_Jenner. The brave choice to live as your authentic self is a powerful example to so many,” Jarrett praised Jenner, featuring the Vanity Fair cover on her Twitter account.
Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover was widely shared on social media today, but President Obama did not personally address it on his Twitter account.
Jarrett’s tweet was the first public reaction from a member of the White House to the news.
