Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL) joined SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday and discussed the need for a Spygate investigation, questioning what former President Barack Obama and former Vice President Joe Biden knew.

“I have read the Mueller report cover to cover, some parts of it three or four times,” Bradley Byrne told Breitbart News’ Washington Political Editor Matt Boyle. “Mr. Mueller and his team clearly stated that they did not find evidence of a collusion or conspiracy. That’s what this was supposed to be all about.”

“If they couldn’t find evidence on that, and we spent $35 million and two years trying to find it, how the heck did this thing get started?” Byrne continued. “We wasted a lot of taxpayer money, we trampled on the rights of President Trump in doing all of this, by the way.”

Byrne also said if a “Republican administration” had done the same thing to a “Democratic candidate for president,” there would be an uproar.

“I think we need to have an investigation as to how that happened, but not only that, we need to have a process that ensures there will be an investigation in the future if there’s any future investigation of a presidential campaign,” Byrne stated. “I introduced a bill earlier this week, I’ve been getting some good feedback so I’m excited about it. Need to go make this law.”

Byrne, who is also seeking to unseat Sen. Doug Jones (D-AL) in Alabama’s 2020 Senate race, said he wants the “facts” laid out for the American people to see.

“I want to know how far up it goes,” Byrne exclaimed. “I want to know what did President Barack Obama know and when did he know it. When did people in his White House know it? I don’t think this thing just started on July 31, 2016.”

“Put it all out there. Who in the Barack Obama administration knew what, when, where, how,” Byrne asked. “What was their motivation?

Throughout the interview, Byrne also weighed in on recent reports of Roy Moore’s consideration of a 2020 United States Senate run.

“2017 was an embarrassment for the state of Alabama,” Byrne said. “I endorsed Judge Moore, as the president did, I stuck with him until the end and voted for him, but we never should have lost that race.”

“It could have made a difference in the Kavanaugh confirmation, for example,” Byrne continued. “This race in Alabama could determine the difference in a Republican majority in the Senate and a Democrat majority in the Senate, there’s a heck of a lot riding here.”

“I’m running because I think we need a strong candidate, who not only will win the primary based on conservative principles but will win the general election next fall,” Byrne said. “Judge Moore had his opportunity in 2017. Shockingly we lost that seat to a Democrat. We need a different nominee in 2020 so we can take that seat back and I think I am the person who can do that.”

Breitbart News Saturday airs on SiriusXM Patriot 125 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern.
