Puigsanity! Dodgers Rookie Breaks Team Merchandise Sales Record

Yasiel Puig, the Dodgers phenom who is batting .500 and has more hits in his first 8 games than Mike Trout and Bryce Harper had combined in their first 8 games, has broken the club’s merchandise sales record.

This is quite an accomplishment when one considers Fernando Valenzuela and Hideo Nomo played in Los Angeles. As did Manny Ramirez and his dreads.

According to the Los Angeles Times

The Dodgers sold more Puig-related merchandise from Thursday to Sunday than they had ever sold of any player over a four-day period — more than even Manny Ramirez, Fernando Valenzuela or Hideo Nomo, according to a team spokesperson.

Breitbart Sports wrote after Spring Training that Puig’s potential seemed “limitless,” and the rookie left legendary Dodgers announcer Vin Scully speechless last week.
