New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was reportedly questioned in a possible homicide investigation on Monday.
Sports Illustrated reports “Massachusetts State police spoke to Hernandez on Monday and were interested in possibly searching his home” about a possible homicide less than a mile from his home, where the body of a 27-year-old man was found on Monday.
According to the Sports Illustrated source, “Hernandez is not believed to be a murder suspect,” but “a vehicle rented in his name has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the investigation.”
“A source close to Hernandez” told Sports Illustrated there was “a connection between the player and the case, but would not elaborate.”
UPDATE: Police investigators searched Hernandez’s home on Tuesday evening, Sports Illustrated reports.
