Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook helped a Thunder fan successfully propose to his girlfriend last Friday on Twitter.
Charlie Bright, a recent Oklahoma grad and Thunder fan, randomly sent Westbrook a message on Facebook asking for his help.
“I put in big bold letters of my first words on the message as MARRIAGE PROPOSAL,” Bright told NewsOK. “Because I wanted to kind of grab his attention as he peeked through his inbox.”
His girlfriend, Rachel Haycraft, is also a Thunder fan and their first date was at a Thunder game.
Two or three days after Bright sent Westbrook a message, he was surprised that Westbrook actually responded with, “I’m down, what’s the plan?”
Amazingly, Bright and his favorite player were going over the details, which involved Westbrook tweeting to Haycraft at 4:30 p.m. on Friday:
.@rachelhaycraft, @chuuuuck1 loves u, he wants to know if u would spend the rest of ur life watching thunder games w/ him. #marryhim #Whynot
