OK Red Cross After Sugar Bowl: We Understand Bama's 'Need for Relief'

After Oklahoma beat Alabama 45-31 in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday, the Red Cross of Oklahoma’s Twitter account tweeted out some smack talk, saying they understood Alabama’s “need for relief and privacy” during this difficult time.

The tweet got mixed reactions, especially since Tuscaloosa, home to Alabama, was ravaged by a tornado in 2011, and nearly 100 million Americans were bracing for a severe snowstorm that has already left nine people dead. The Twitter account noted in subsequent tweets that it had been engaging in some good humor after a Sugar Bowl win in which Oklahoma fans acted as excited as Boise State fans did when they beat Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl.

The tweet got mixed reactions, especially since Tuscaloosa, home to the university, was ravaged by a tornado in 2011.
