Cubs Defend 'Clark': Attacks on New Mascot 'Despicable'

The Chicago Cubs defended their first mascot in modern history and called some of the attacks on “Clark” the cub “despicable.”

After unveiling “Clark” on Monday, the Chicago Cubs received tons of backlash for their cartoonish mascot.

He said “some of the strong reactions were predictable” and noted “here were a lot of fans today excited to share the experience with Clark the mascot.”

Fans complained that the biggest offseason addition to the team was the cartoonish mascot. Even Keith Olbermann slammed “Clark” on Tuesday.
