We Saw It Coming: In Which We Gloat Over Nailing the Super Bowl

Don’t say we didn’t tell you so. If only we had wagered our children’s college fund on the Super Bowl.

Breitbart Sports reported Seattle’s “swagger” and Denver’s nerves in coverage from New York City in the lead up to Super Bowl 48. Tony Lee predicted a Seahawks victory by eight points. We saw it coming. Just don’t expect us to write an article about being wrong when the results catch us flatfooted next year.

And Lee nailed Percy Harvin, a nonfactor for the Seahawks this season, as the “X factor” for the Super Bowl. Two days before the game, Dan Flynn’s Breitbart Sports podcast similarly called “the emergence of Percy Harvin” the “most overlooked storyline” entering the game. “If you don’t have any game film on him,” Flynn noted on the podcast, “that makes things really problematic for the Denver Broncos.” It turned out that way. Harvin returned a kick 87 yards for a touchdown and rushed for 45 yards on two carries. Harvin’s number of plays weren’t big but his plays were for big numbers.

The Breitbart Sports podcast prophetically noted, “It’s pretty scary to think that the Seattle Seahawks, as good as they’ve been all season, they have their best team playing on Sunday.” They sure did.
