‘Rolling Stone’ Suggests Urban Meyer May Have Covered-Up Aaron Hernandez Drive-By Shooting

Meyer Hernandez

An article in Rolling Stone magazine has alleged that Ohio State coach Urban Meyer, possibly covered up a drive-by shooting involving former NFL player Aaron Hernandez, when the two were at Florida.

In an excerpt of an article about the troubled college coach’s life published by Rolling Stone, author Paul Solotaroff suggests that when Urban was coach of the Florida Gators, he may have covered up an incident involving Hernandez, then a player for the University of Florida, according to Yahoo Sports.

“In college, his coach (then-University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer) may have helped cover up failed drug tests, along with two violent incidents — an assault and a drive-by shootout outside a local bar,” the article states.

Yahoo hastens to add that the accusation of a cover-up is only an allegation, thus far.

The report, if true, just adds to Meyer’s woes as he battles allegations that he knew about allegations of abuse lodged against the now fired Ohio State wide receivers coach, Zach Smith.

It is all just one more sad incident in the life of former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez who’s life came crashing down after being arrested, tried for several murders. He was convicted  in one case. Ultimately, in 2017, the player committed suicide in jail bringing his life to a tragic end.
