NFL fans vented their frustrations on social media Sunday after singer Ledisi performed Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing, also known as the “Black National Anthem.”

As they have done for the past several Super Bowl broadcasts, the NFL opened the Super Bowl with a performance of the song Lift Every Voice and Sing, the so-called “black national anthem.” But not every voice appreciated the left-wing gesture.

NBA star Isiah Thomas blasted the NFL for playing the so-called “black national anthem” because it is “emphasizing our separateness.”

According to a report, the National Football League is preparing to roll out even more social justice messaging in the 2021 season and will also make the “black national anthem” a prominent part of all major league events.
