Wednesday’s cable news ratings show a particularly humiliating data point for Jake Tapper, host of The Lead on CNN.
Fox News host Sean Hannity drew more demo viewers on July 11 than Tapper’s total viewership. Hannity, which airs at 9:00 pm EST, scored a whopping near 600,000 demo viewers, while The Lead, wich runs at 4:00 pm EST, notched just 580,000 total viewers.
As reported Breitbart News Editor-at-Large John Nolte, Fox News recently notched its eighth straight quarter as the most-watched cable news network, with an average of 1.409 million total daily viewers. Left-leaning CNN attracted an average of just 658,000 total daily viewers, while MSNBC had 930,000, according to the latest quarterly report.
Primetime viewership wasn’t any better for CNN — just 929,000 viewers to Fox News’ 2.447 million.

With an average of 3.368 million viewers total daily viewers, Hannity continues to be the most watched cable news network program, leading MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s audience of 2.752 million. Nipping at Maddow’s heels are Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham, notching 2.697 million and 2.654 viewers.
In May, CNN’s ratings plummeted 25 percent compared to the same month last year. Things didn’t get any better for the left-leaning network in June, attracting an average of 750,000 total primetime viewers between May 28 and the first week of June.
