Fired TV Reporter Claims She’s ‘Ruined’ After Profanity-Laced Rant Directed at Police Officer

A Philadelphia television reporter is out of a job and says she is “ruined” after being caught on camera berating a police officer outside of a Philadelphia comedy club.

Per NY Post, Colleen Campbell, 28, was charged with resisting arrest, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct Sunday after she was kicked out of the club for “loud whispering” throughout the show.

Video of Campbell went viral, eventually making its way to PHL 17, her employer. After seeing the video, PHL 17’s human resources called Campbell to let her know she had been terminated.

Campbell said she had two drinks at the comedy club, and she believes she was drugged, leading to her outbursts. According to Campbell, “everything was foggy,” but she does remember getting into an altercation at the club.

“That’s not me or how I talk or act or anything at all,” she told Philly Mag. “I don’t know what to do. I feel ruined and embarrassed for me and my family.”

“I feel awful,” Campbell added. “That’s not me or how I speak or how I talk or how I was raised. I had to delete all my social media because I’m getting threats.”

The unemployed reporter told the magazine that she would like to apologize to the officer for her actions.
