Colorado: Republicans Have Edge In Absentee Ballot Requests
More than half of Colorado's 3.6 million registered voters were sent absentee ballots on Monday, and Republicans have a slight edge over Democrats by nearly 20,000 ballots. This advantage is more significant, though, when Colorado's significant number of "unaffiliated" voters are taken into account.
According to the RealClearPolitics average of the polls, Romney leads by nearly a point but has had a consistent lead among Colorado's independent voters in recent polls.
According to the Denver Post, absentee ballots were sent to:
598,503 to unaffiliated voters
673,676 to registered Republicans
654,129 to registered Democrats
