Dem-Friendly Bar to Host Cuban Missile Crisis Party

The Cuban Missile Crisis proved to be one of the most frightening chapters in 20th century history, a time when nuclear war was a very real possibility.

Now, a St. Louis-based bar known for welcoming Democrats like Sen. Claire McCaskill, is throwing a party this weekend to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the U.S. potentially getting wiped off the map.

The Party Wants You! … is the tagline for Saturday’s soiree. Yes, St. Louis residents can dress up in their favorite Cold War regalia and party like it’s 1962!

McCaskill, locked in a tight Senate race with Republican Todd Akin, watched the Democratic National Convention at the Royale a few weeks back (see Tweeted photo below). No word on whether she’ll be partying along with the other Cuban Missile Crisis revelers.
