Dem-Friendly Bar to Host Cuban Missile Crisis Party
The Cuban Missile Crisis proved to be one of the most frightening chapters in 20th century history, a time when nuclear war was a very real possibility.
Now, a St. Louis-based bar known for welcoming Democrats like Sen. Claire McCaskill, is throwing a party this weekend to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the U.S. potentially getting wiped off the map.
The Party Wants You! ... is the tagline for Saturday's soiree. Yes, St. Louis residents can dress up in their favorite Cold War regalia and party like it's 1962!
McCaskill, locked in a tight Senate race with Republican Todd Akin, watched the Democratic National Convention at the Royale a few weeks back (see Tweeted photo below). No word on whether she'll be partying along with the other Cuban Missile Crisis revelers.
