Reflecting the November 13 terror attack during an Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris, group frontman Jesse Hughes said, “God made men and women” and “guns made them equal.”

Breitbart News previously reported that Hughes now carries a gun everywhere he goes in the US. He told AFP, “I don’t go anywhere in America without a gun anymore. That sucks. And I’m not paranoid. I’m not a cowboy … but I wanna be prepared.” He also said he is a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

In the February 16 interview published by Newsweek, Hughes went even further, saying, “I know people will disagree with me, but it just seems like God made men and women, and that night guns made them equal. And I hate it that it’s that way.” He went on to intimate that good guys need access to guns until a perfect world is created in which bad guys to not have them and cannot get them.

To date, that perfect world is elusive.

Hughes also took time to malign the French gun controls that keep law-abiding citizens disarmed on November 13, saying

Did your French gun control stop a single f***ing person from dying at the Bataclan? And if anyone can answer yes, I’d like to hear it, because I don’t think so. I think the only thing that stopped it was some of the bravest men that I’ve ever seen in my life charging headfirst into the face of death with their firearms.
