Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and rocker Chris Martin seemed like they had it all–fabulous careers, beautiful children and all the trappings of an A-list life.
Turns out the couple has been fighting to save their marriage for the past year. This week, they announced the battle had been lost.
The power couple shared the news on Paltrow’s web platform Goop.com which it dubbed “consciously uncoupling”:
It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” the couple writes. “We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.
Paltrow’s signature web site may have had trouble handling the traffic surge from the couple’s announcement. As of 6:30 p.m. EST the site could not be loaded.
