A new report and docuseries by a pro-life group alleges that Planned Parenthood has a long history of enabling child sex abusers to get away with their criminal activities.

The report, titled “Aiding Abusers: Planned Parenthood’s Cover-Up of Child Sexual Abuse,” is released as the Trump administration proposed a new rule last week that requires abortion facilities, such as Planned Parenthood, that receive Title X family planning grants to abide by all state and local laws that mandate the reporting of child abuse. The new rule mandates documentation of such reports of child abuse as well.

In a web press conference Wednesday about the new report and docuseries, Lila Rose, president of Live Action, said that while Planned Parenthood has been a mandated reporter of child abuse, the group has failed to comply with its legal responsibility. Rose added she has asked the Trump Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to include an enforcement measure in the Title X provision pertaining to reports of child abuse.

The pro-life group states it is releasing the report and docuseries at a time when the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have called for an end to sexual abuse in every institution and field.

While Planned Parenthood has attached itself to these movements, Live Action states, “The movement should be calling out Planned Parenthood for decades of enabling sexual abusers.”

The report is a compilation of court cases, state department of health reports, and statements by former Planned Parenthood managers and staffers that “document Planned Parenthood’s history and corporate culture of failing to report incidents to authorities, even though many pregnant teens who come to the chain for abortions are under the age of legal sexual consent.”

“That’s something that would usually trigger a report — if not out of a basic moral duty, at least out of a legal one in states where Planned Parenthood is subject to mandatory reporting requirements,” the report states.

“The report notes that victims had ‘significant contact with clinical treatment facilities, most commonly Planned Parenthood,’” Live Action explains. “In fact, Planned Parenthood was the top most-visited facility for trafficking victims, second only to hospital emergency rooms. When asked why they went to Planned Parenthood, one survivor said ‘because they didn’t ask any questions.’”

Rose said in a statement:

Despite Planned Parenthood’s public rhetoric as well as laws requiring it to report suspected abuse, its failure to report has been deliberate and widespread. Time and again, rather than reporting abuse to authorities, Planned Parenthood has repeatedly looked the other way and performed abortions on victims as young as 12 years old. These girls deserved advocacy but instead Planned Parenthood staff ignored their abuse and returned them to the waiting arms of their abusers.

Planned Parenthood – the nation’s largest abortion provider – is also the largest recipient of Title X family planning funding. The group, which receives about $60 million annually through the program, has condemned the Trump administration’s new rule and organized protests against it, calling it a “gag rule” because it would prohibit recipients of Title X funds from referring patients for abortion.

The new regulation requires abortion facilities to be physically and financially separate from federally funded family planning centers. The rule sends the clear message that abortion is not health care or family planning.

“Because of flagrant violations like these, the proposed Title X rule tightening on reporting abuse is absolutely necessary,” Rose said, adding:

Planned Parenthood has proven that its priority is selling abortions, not caring for the most vulnerable of girls. Planned Parenthood’s culture of cover-up must end, the cycle of abuse of innocent children must end, and Planned Parenthood’s half a billion dollars in annual federal funding must end. Taxpayers cannot be forced to subsidize these abuses of children.

Breitbart News reached out to Planned Parenthood for the group’s reaction to the new report and docuseries but did not receive an immediate response. During the web conference, Rose said Planned Parenthood’s reaction was that the docuseries was “doctored.”
