DONNA, Texas — The superintendent of a Texas border school district who has been the target of a political witch hunt has fought back and stopped a move by the school board to push him out.

During an emergency school board meeting in Donna Texas, the school board was planning to meet to discuss the employment status of Superintendent Jesus Rene Reyna. Those plans were stopped in their tracks when a State of Texas process server arrived and delivered a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the school board and the Donna ISD Police Chief Roy Padilla.

The TRO was filed by Guerra & Farrah, a well-respected local law firm that was fired by the same school board faction that has been targeting Reyna. As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, The law firm of Guerra & Farrah was replaced as the school district’s general counsel by Robert Salinas, a previously convicted felon who spent time in federal prison for money laundering. The faction that hired Salinas brought him on-board with a retainer of $300,000 per year plus other expenses; an amount that is about three times the retainer previously paid to Guerra & Farrah.

As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, Donna ISD has a long history of corruption and questionable actions that have resulted in a series of grievances and lawsuits that the district has settled out of court. The conflict deals with a recent faction of board members led by Board President Albert Sandoval which has been at odds with a longer serving member and Reyna.

The most recent chapter in the witch hunt came last week when Padilla had Reyna and Board Member Ernesto Lugo arrested accusing them of retaliation and bribery, Breitbart Texas previously reported.

Based on the arrest, Sandoval’s faction had moved against Reyna’s employment in what some people within the district administration that have spoken with Breitbart Texas claim would have been a likely suspension. The TRO put a temporary stop to that.

Breitbart Texas tried to ask Sandoval about the political witch hunt led by his faction; however, he initially refused to answer the questions posed to him and then claimed that because of the TRO he couldn’t talk about the case. You can watch the video here.
