EPA Head Calls Carbon Plan a 'Moral Obligation'

On Monday, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy briefed reporters on the latest action the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is taking under the Clean Air Act to advanced the Obama administration’s climate Action plan. According to McCarthy it is a “moral obligation” for our children’s future.

The new regulations will force approximately 600 existing coal-fired power plants to reduce their carbon pollution 30 percent from 2005 levels by 2030. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) blasted the proposed regulation.
