Former NFL QB Brady Quinn: Jeb Bush Is ‘Best Candidate to Lead This Country’

Former NFL quarterback and current football analyst for Fox Sports Brady Quinn gave his support to GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush Thursday on the Fox News Channel’s “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren.”

Quinn, who finished third in Heisman Trophy voting following his stellar 2006 at Notre Dame, stated, “I’m supporting Jeb Bush. I’m proud to be a part of his mission called Mission Next with his son Jeb Bush Jr. We’re going out and being active in the youth and the community and talking about them to be vocal with their support, and engaging with their colleagues, friends, and families to talk about solutions for this country.”

He said, “being a resident of the state of Florida, I’ve firsthand witnessed the success of Governor Jeb Bush during his time. Cutting taxes every year during his tenure…almost — over $19 billion in taxes, seeing him institute the first statewide voucher program that has increased the graduation rate of students 50 percent during that time. So, to me, he is the best candidate to lead this country come 2016.”

Van Susteren then asked Quinn why Bush was not surging in the polls, to which Quinn replied, “I don’t think a lot of people nationally have really had the recognition of what Jeb Bush has accomplished yet. But, they will continue to see him, and he’ll continue to thrive. You know, Donald Trump is a guy who’s surged because he’s a reality TV star. So, he kind of has that exposure already. But Jeb Bush will continue to rise as this campaign goes along.”
