Thursday at his weekly press briefing, when asked about former FBI Director James Comey’s assertions that President Donald Trump asked for his loyalty, House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) said the president is “new to this,” so he is unfamiliar with White House-FBI protocol.
Ryan said, “The president is new at this. He’s new to government, so he probably wasn’t steeped in the long-running protocols that establish the relationship between the FBI, DOJ and White House. He’s just new to this.”
