Tuesday’s on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria,” Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) argued that now was as good as any time to take on China of unfair trade practices.
According to Burgess, the United States is in a position of strength given its economy, which makes now the right time to take on the Asian superpower.
“Look, the — again, I think the president has pointed this out. The economy of the United States is in its strongest position, really, in anything that I can remember. If you are ever going to correct the problems that existed with the trade imbalance with China, wouldn’t now be the time to do it, when the — from the position of strength, rather than trying to bargain from a position of weakness — which obviously was the case, even just a few short years ago.”
